Bodhi trees hold deep spiritual meaning across Indian villages, a place where fabric is tied to branches while making a wish, and the stones beneath are worshipped as sacred ground. In Tree of Hope, the tree becomes a living symbol of a community’s collective faith: each piece of fabric a private wish added to a growing tapestry of hope. Two tactile works from this series, built from fabric, thread and plaster textures meant to be felt, not just seen, were presented to the Pune School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Girls in India in March 2024.
