Belonging

The pivotal point in my artistic journey was my participation in the prestigious Chateau Orquevaux artist residency in France earlier in 2022. This transformative experience became the crucible in which the sentiment of a series of Belonging took shape, giving rise to six expressive pieces that traverse various dimensions of this emotion . Of which Reve was acquired by the residency and Wisp was sold internationally.

Each canvas tells a distinct narrative of its conception. Cage, manifests belonging as an entity that both confines us within our thoughts and fears or liberates us.  Home invokes a serenity of a  warm sanctuary, while Move beckons us to realize that the world itself is a realm to which we belong. In Deep, Suchita probes the notion that everything we yearn for already resides within us and is an exploration of the ultimate sense of belonging.
