Tree of Hope Series

Bodhi trees hold deep cultural and spiritual significance in many Indian villages. This tradition of tying pieces of fabric to the tree while making a wish, and worshipping the stones under the tree, is a beautiful reflection of the intertwining of faith, hope, and communal practices.

Sentiment of the Tree:

From a metaphorical perspective, the tree embodies the essence of faith and hope. It stands as a living symbol of the community's collective aspirations and dreams. The fabric tied to its branches represents personal and collective wishes, each piece contributing to the tree's "story." As these wishes accumulate, they create a tapestry of hopes that the tree carries and nurtures.

The. two tactile pieces were presented to the Pune School for the Blind and Visually impaired Girls in India in march 2024. They enjoyed feeling the fabric, threads and plaster textures and experiencing the Tree of Hope.
